A Day’s Journey

The format of A Day’s Journey is broken into three parts, which reflect the arc of a traveler:
· “Setting out” is essays about time, its swiftness and surprises, the power of memory, and the value of days, even the seemingly ordinary ones. “On their own, such days may not be very impressive, but taken all together they are a string of pearls!”
· “Towards Evening” contains excerpts from Tim’s journal during his cancer journey: “Sometimes written during chemo infusions and sleepless nights, I pray that these entries will strengthen the hearts of the hurting and magnify Jesus, our sure Hope.”
· But the heart of A Day’s Journey is the middle section, “Along the Way.” In it, Tim relates stories of people who have taught him about courage, hope, joy, wonder, compassion, and a deeper understanding of the Gospel. “All of them have things to teach us about how we will spend the precious bits of our vapor life – the endurance we need, the joy we have, the Gospel we love, the Cross we bear, and the hope we embrace until faith becomes sight… In seeing how they number their days, I’ve learned how to better spend mine.”
Our prayer is that this book will encourage many who need hope, joy, and wonder along the difficult path they are traveling!
