Our History

Frontline Missions International began over thirty years ago, when the Berlin Wall lay in heaps, new flags were being stitched, and mapmakers scrambled to keep up with the changes as freedom ripped apart the Iron Curtain. Across these now unshackled lands, Christians seized the Gospel opportunities that greater freedom brought. During this time a small mission board named Eastern European Ministries was started to join in this Harvest-time by training pastors, equipping church planters, publishing Gospel literature, and supplying humanitarian aid in areas torn by war. In the early years, our work centered on the former Iron Curtain countries, but then other walls came down and new Macedonian calls were heard in Siberian Russia, Central Asia, India, China, and the Middle East. Eastern European Ministries answered these calls—and in 2002 changed its name to Frontline Missions International to underscore our wider sphere of ministry in advancing the Gospel in the world’s difficult places.

What We Believe

We believe that there is one and only one living and true God who eternally exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; that the sixty-six books of the Holy Scriptures are the verbally inspired and inerrant revelation of the one true God; that God created all things very good, but human sin provoked a divine curse on all His creation and earns the just wrath of God against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men; that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man; that He is the eternal Son of God who took on Himself human nature and lived a perfectly sinless life that He might die for the sins of mankind and rise again from the dead; that the shedding of His blood on the cross was the atonement that saves His people from their sins; that everyone who believes in Him receives the new birth by the grace of God and becomes part of His Church; that believers will have eternal life in God’s presence and unbelievers will suffer conscious, eternal punishment in hell; and that the Lord Jesus Christ will come again to rule as the eternal King.
