Persecution Update May 2011: Laos
May 2nd, 2011 by Frontline Missions
Laos is a very poor Communist country that remains on the top ten list of persecutors of Christians. On January 4, 2011, Pastor Wanna was arrested with ten other believers for holding Christmas services in his house church. He had previously endured beatings and prison last year for the crime of bringing a “foreign religion” to Laos. His house church has grown to over 100 converts. In another province, officials expelled 62 Christians from their homes into the jungle because they refused to renounce Christ. These believers need our intercessory prayer so they can remain strong despite threats of beatings and prison.
