of $15,000 goal
The Lord has led me to extend my work with Frontline Missions International in East Asia for the next year. During this year, I will be enrolled full-time in language school, grow in my ability to adapt to the culture, be mentored by experienced, cross-cultural Gospel workers, and build relationships in order to share the Gospel. I’ll be participating in all of these activities so that I can continue to gain experience in what it means to serve long-term in an environment that may be hostile to the Gospel.
Why East Asia?
For the past two years, the Lord has given me the amazing opportunity to work in East Asia as a participant in Frontline’s FX Program, a missions training program designed to provide a realistic next step for those exploring long-term Gospel ministry in restricted-access countries. During this time I have worked as an English teacher on a college campus. As I approached the completion of this two year assignment, I began praying about what God would have me do next. Stay in East Asia? Move back to the US? Go to some other location I had not yet considered? After praying about what God would have me do and seeking the counsel of mentors and family members, I am so glad to be continuing with the FX Program by serving for the next year in East Asia while undertaking an intensive language training program. This program will better prepare me for whatever God has planned for me next, and I am excited to continue my work and ministry in East Asia.
In the fall of 2018, I will begin language school. This is an intensive language acquisition program that will help prepare me for future work in the region. In order to begin this program, I will return to the US to apply for a student visa and raise additional support. By the time I depart for East Asia, I need to raise $15,000. This will include the cost of airfare, language school, housing and food as well as insurance and all of the other costs associated with living overseas. I’m praying that the first $6,000 of the $15,000 total will come in by June 1, 2018 in order to cover airfare and tuition costs.
