Persecution Update November 2011: Nigeria

Although there are nearly equal numbers of Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, the radical Islamists in the north are bent on wiping out Christianity in their country. Over the last two months more than 30 believers have been killed by Islamic radicals. One of them was evangelist Mark Ojunta, age 36, from southern Nigeria, who was ministering among the Kotoko people in Nigeria’s northeastern state when he was martyred. He knew he was on a list to be killed and took his family out of the area to protect them. However, he returned to teach a class of believers and was killed on August 27, the night he returned. Please pray for his wife Ema and their two young children—and for all these believers to be strong in the Lord as they enter into the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings.
