As the Olympics begin, do not forget more than 700 prisoners of conscience who have been jailed by the Chinese government. Here are a few to remember by name: Liu Huiwen (see photo) was arrested, beaten, and imprisoned last year for giving out Gospel tracts.
Pastor Cai Zhuohua who was forced to make soccer balls for the Olympics in prison for ten hours a day.
Shi Weihan, house church leader and bookstore owner in Beijing, who has been jailed without a hearing. (For more information, see June 2008 update.)
