Nigeria, the most populous of any African nation, is home to one of the deadliest Islamic terrorist groups, Boko Haram, which is committed to driving Christianity out of Nigeria and imposing extreme sharia law on the country. In 2014, Boko Haram killed more people in Nigeria than ISIS did in the entire Middle East. In April 2015, Boko Haram kidnapped 275 high school girls, the majority of whom were Christians, and many are still missing. Recently, on Monday night, January 25, Pastor David Onubedo was kidnapped by Islamic terrorists with a demand for ransom of a quarter of a million dollars. Because Nigeria’s government is so weak and corrupt, the Christian population is left unprotected and very vulnerable. Please pray for Pastor Onubedo and his family, and pray for special grace for other persecuted brothers and sisters there as they follow the way of the Cross.
